- STATEMENT OF MEMBERSHIP
Details the membership of the North London Waste Authority for the remainder of the municipal year as notified by the seven as notified by the constituent Boroughs who are entitled to nominate two representatives. - NORTH LONDON WASTE AUTHORITY – ANNUAL REPORT 2001/2002This is the 2001/2002 Annual Report for the Authority, in a similar format as previous years, linking in to the Best Value Performance Plan.
- ANNUAL REPORT OF NLWA DIRECTORS OF LONDONWASTE LTDThis report sets out the activities of Members of the Authority serving as Directors of London Waste Ltd in 2001/2002.
- REVIEW OF CONTRACT STANDING ORDERSThe Contract Standing Orders of the North London Waste Authority have not been revised for some considerable time. This reports sets out a revised set of contract standing orders and asks for members agreement.
- STANDING ORDERS AND THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORKThis report asks the authority to agree changes to its standing orders as a consequence of Part 3 of the Local Government Act 2000.
- DATES OF MEETINGS FOR THE AUTHORITY IN 2002/2003This report sets out proposed dates for Authority meetings in 2002/2003.
- JOINT MUNICIPAL WASTES MANAGEMENT STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT UPDATEThis report brings Members up to date with progress on the development of a joint municipal wastes management strategy for the Authority area.The report describes the recent establishment of the Strategy Project Board to oversee development of the strategy, and progress from the working groups charged with delivering the strategy. The report also updates Members on a joint process for developing bids to the £21.3 million Capital Waste Minimisation and Recycling Fund.
- LONDON MAYOR’S DRAFT WASTE MANAGEMENT STRATEGYThis report summarises the Mayor’s Draft Municipal Waste Management Strategy, as sent to the Greater London Authority Assembly for comment in July 2001, and notes the comments made by the Authority to the Mayor and the Assembly at the time. The report also notes the imminent publication by the Mayor of a revised Draft Municipal Waste Management Strategy for general public consultation, upon which the Authority is likely to need to formalise its views at its next meeting in September.
- CONSULTATION RESPONSE TO THE DRAFT HERTFORDSHIRE MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT STRATEGYThis report summarises the initial response to a consultation on the Draft Hertfordshire Joint Waste Management Strategy prepared by the Head of Waste Strategy and Contracts and requests Members to add any comments they may have.
- AWARD OF CONTRACTS FOR MATERIALS RECYCLING FACILITY AND COMPOST REPROCESSING FACILITY FEASIBILITY STUDIESThis report summarises the results of a tendering exercise for the appointment of consultants to conduct feasibility studies into the development of Materials Recycling and Compost Reprocessing Facilities for the North London area and makes a recommendation as to which the contract should be awarded.
- ARSENAL RELOCATION - UPDATEThis report outlines the progress made to date on the negotiations with Arsenal F.C. on the relocation of the Authoritys current waste transfer facility at Ashburton Grove to a proposed alternative facility at Lough Road.
- HENDON RELOCATION - UPDATEThis report advises Members of progress with the proposed re-location of the Authoritys rail transfer station at Hendon, which forms part of a major re-development of the Cricklewood and Brent Cross area.
- HENDON EXTENSIONThis report advises Members about the current status of contractual arrangements at the Hendon rail transfer station, and seeks authority for Officers to negotiate potential future arrangements.
- BEST VALUE PERFORMANCE PLAN 2002This report advises Members of the publication of the Authority’s 2002 Best Value Performance Plan under the Clerk’s delegated powers, pending the appointment of the new Authority.
- WASTE STREAMS AND CONTRACT ACTIVITYThis report informs Members on the final disposal points of the waste collected by the constituent boroughs. For each borough, a full analysis of the tonnage delivered to the Authority for disposal during the 2001/02 financial year and an outline of the first two months of the 2002/03 financial year have been completed.The report also outlines the contractor’s performance and summarises the Strategy & Contracts Team’s activities since the last Authority meeting. In this regard, recommendations are made to delegate decisions to officers regarding the Authority’s arrangements for the transport and disposal of civic amenity waste, and the recycling of these and other wastes.
