• 2007/08 REVENUE AND CAPITAL BUDGETS FINAL OUTTURN AND 2008/09 FIRST BUDGET REVIEWThis report provides details of actual expenditure and income for 2007/08 and briefly comments on the current financial position and outlook for future years. Based upon current information the Authority is forecast to have a revenue surplus of 1.637m at 31 March 2009, however in view of the Hendon rent review notice which has been served on the Authority Members should note that this figure may reduce. A review of the outlook for the period 2009/10 to 2011/12 reaffirms the likelihood that waste management costs will continue to rise significantly over this period. A further review of the financial position will be reported to the Authority meeting in September.

• ANNUAL REVIEW OF RISK MANAGEMENT ARRANGEMENTSThis report comes to the Authority as the relevant body under the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003 with responsibility for risk management and governance arrangements. The report provides an annual review of the arrangements for dealing with matters of risk management within the Authority and highlights further action planned for the remainder of the year.

• JOINT WASTE STRATEGY UPDATEThis report updates members on progress made with implementing the North London Joint Waste Strategy (NLJWS) since the last Authority meeting on 16th April 2008. The report includes an update on waste prevention activities; provides details of additional funding and support available from central government; provides an update on Compost Awareness Week; and recommends a process for responding to constituent borough councils consultations on local area agreement targets involving waste.
• LONDON MAYORS DRAFT BUSINESS WASTE MANAGEMENT STRATEGY CONSULTATION RESPONSE - APPENDIX 1This report appraises the London Mayors draft business waste management strategy, considers the implications for the Authority and recommends a response.
• UPDATE ON THE MAIN (LONG TERM) WASTE SERVICES PROCUREMENTThis paper provides a progress report on the procurement and seeks the Authoritys agreement to a revised September timetable ambition for the submission of an Outline Business Case to Government and to a special Authority meeting at the end of July with that OBC submission in mind.
