The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is seeking external evaluators to help assess applications to the North London Community Fund (NLCF). This is an opportunity to support community-led environmental projects across north London and play a key role in helping decide which organisations receive funding.
Who can apply?
To be an evaluator, you must:
- Be a resident of one of the seven north London boroughs (Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington or Waltham Forest), or represent an organisation that is based in one of these boroughs.
- Be able to assess applications fairly, objectively and confidentially.
- Have not submitted, or been involved in, an application to the North London Community Fund 2027-28. This includes being employed by, volunteering for, or otherwise having a significant connection to an applicant organisation.
What's involved?
Evaluators will be asked to:
- Read and score funding applications using the assessment guidance provided.
- Work alongside another evaluator, with each application reviewed by two people.
- Attend an online meeting in the end of February/beginning of March to discuss your assessments and agree on which projects should be shortlisted for funding.
- Agree together on which organisations should be recommended for shortlisting.
Time commitment and payment
Up to 8 hours of work in total. Payment of £130 upon completion of the evaluation process. Equivalent to £16.25 per hour
Why get involved?
This is a great opportunity to support environmental and community initiatives across north London while contributing to a fair and transparent funding process. As an external evaluator, you'll help shape funding decisions and ensure that resources are directed towards projects that will make a positive impact in local communities.
