General waste
General waste (rubbish) is collected from residents and businesses by the north London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. It is then taken to the Edmonton energy-from-waste facility, which is run by LondonEnergy Limited, a company that NLWA wholly owns. The energy-from-waste facility generates enough energy to power 80,000 homes and businesses in north London annually.
