Hard plastics

We have recently had to stop our hard plastics recycling scheme, so hard plastic items will be treated as general waste and sent to our energy recovery facility. This is because our recycling processor recently advised us the UK doesn’t currently have the processing capacity to recycle hard plastics, due to high energy prices and an oversupply of cheaper imported plastic products. We will continue to look for a market for these items in case it is possible for us to resume the scheme.
