What happens to north London's recycling?

In north London dry recyclables (such as plastic, metal, paper and glass) are collected at the kerbside in a mixed recycling bin and taken to a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in London. There they are sorted into their various materials. After sorting they are taken to reprocessors – places like paper mills or plastics recycling plants - where they are recycled and made into new products.
