Who are Octopus Community Network and Mildmay Community Food Project?
Octopus Community Network and Mildmay Community Food Project are part of a collective of independently run community centres working together to strengthen Islington’s neighbourhoods. By connecting people, sharing resources, and championing fairness, the groups help communities shape their local places and build thriving, resilient communities where everyone can live well. The organisations received funding through the North London Community Fund to deliver the Upcycling Food project, helping residents turn food scraps into living compost through the creation of two community powered composting sites in Islington.
