£60,000 is available for any community-based projects that aim to prevent waste in any of the seven north London boroughs. With up to 100% funding of the project cost, support can be provided for projects up to £15,000 tackling a waste prevention problem.
The increase to £60,000, from £40,000 in 2017 – 2018, has come at a time where more people are becoming aware of their waste habits and the impacts these have on the environment. NLWA wants to support not-for-profit organisations that offer solutions to reducing waste in north London.
To be eligible for funding, proposed projects must take place in at least one of the seven north London boroughs and must reduce local authority waste collected by one or more of the north London boroughs.
The closing date for applications is 23 April 2018 and proposed projects are expected to be completed within six months from the award of the funding.
NLWA will be holding a workshop on 11 April 2018 to explain eligibility criteria and the application process to not-for-profit organisations.
