MerIT offers free electrical repairs for the community, preventing items from going to waste and upskilling volunteers.
With NLCF support MerIT was able to complete over 100 repairs in 2023, and build partnerships with local colleges and the corporate sector. 16 volunteers were supported to learn electrical repair skills, with two going on to employment thanks to their experience with the project.
MerIT also secured three years of funding from Islington Council, enabling the organisation to continue supporting volunteers while helping to prevent unnecessary electrical waste.
