Financial statements 2019/20
Each year the Authority’s accounts are subject to external audit. Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process which are detailed in the attached 'Public Inspection Notice'
Statement from NLWA's external auditors (Mazars LLP) - December 2020:
Audit of accounts year ended 31 March 2020
Notice is given that there is a delay to the publication of the audited accounts of the North London Waste Authority for the year ended 31 March 2020.
As a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic there has been a delay in the conclusion of the audit of the annual accounts. The Authority’s officers and Mazars’ audit team have been working through the steps that an audit requires, but some work still remains outstanding.
There is therefore a delay to the signing of the final audited accounts from November 2020. This will allow the auditor and finance team to complete their work to provide assurance over the council’s accounts.
Financial statements 2018/19
Mazars LLP, the Authority’s external auditors issued an unqualified opinion on the accounts on 31 July 2019. The Statement of Accounts can be viewed by clicking the link below. Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 gives local government electors in the NLWA area the right to inspect and make copies of the Statement, the Certificate, the auditors’ opinion and any recommendation relating to the Authority. These rights of inspection can be exercised Monday – Friday between the hours of 09.30 and 16.00 at the Authority’s offices at Unit 1b, Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, London, N17 9LJ.
