Abbey Community Centre is a local charity and community centre supporting people of all ages living in or near Kilburn, Camden, to lead better connected, healthier and happier lives.

Abbey Community Centre were awarded funding this year for their recycle-art project. The group hold weekly classes for Camden residents to come and make beautiful objects for in or out of the home out of normally wasted materials such as plastic bottles and old cardboard. The project has seen attendees make anything from milk bottle planters to bottle-cap jewellery. 

With the funding, they have achieved: 

  • 45 recycle art sessions
  • 54 unique attendances throughout the year
  • 2 project displays of the artwork
  • 100% of attendees say the project has helped them reduce their waste at home
