In January 2017 the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) issued a green paper entitled 'Building Our Industrial Strategy'. The objective of the draft industrial strategy as set out in the paper is "to improve living standards and economic growth by increasing productivity and driving growth across the whole country". The government has identified ten pillars of thought and policy for the strategy which they consider, based upon evidence, will drive economic growth.
NLWA responded to the Green Paper following approval of the response at the Authority meeting on 5 April 2017.
