Thank you for your request for information about the waste incinerated at the Edmonton EcoPark, received on 6 January 2023. The request has been allocated the reference number 2023-198 and is being handled under the Environmental Information Regulations (EiR) 2004.

You requested:

1. ‘the proportion by weight of biodegradable or renewable waste that is incinerated at the plant’
2. ‘the daily emissions of oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen chloride.’

Regarding point 1 above, please find attached the report on the waste composition analysis conducted in 2016 (‘2016 NLWA Residual waste composition analysis Final i2_Redacted’). We have redacted names where we do not have a lawful basis to process the individuals’ personal data under the UK GDPR for the purposes of this request. A new composition analysis is underway with results expected in the summer of 2023 following the second phase of waste sampling.

Regarding point 2, we do not hold data on emissions as this is collected and reported by the operator of the EcoPark, LondonEnergy Ltd (LEL). You can submit an EiR request to them by emailing FOI@londonenergyltd.com.

If you would like any further information from us, please do not hesitate to raise a further information request. If you would like to complain about our handling of information requests, you can do so by emailing this email address (informationrequests@nlwa.gov.uk) or using the enquiry form on our website.
