1b For all Authorities – Financial question: What value (£) of Packaging EPR payment is your Authority due to receive from Pack UK in 2025/26? To which of your Authority’s services is this funding allocated? (Please specify the service, or services, this funding is allocated to).
£ Value of pEPR payment 2025/26: Based on the revised notice of assessment provided in July 2025 for 2025/26, NLWA expect to receive £13,204,358.77 from PackUK. It should be noted that this is lower than the £14,479,000 that was provided in the initial notice of assessment received in November 2024. The guarantee provided by the Treasury exceptionally for 2025/26 means that the difference in assessment figures is expected be paid by MHCLG instead of PackUK.
Specify the service(s) your pEPR funding is allocated to: As a Statutory Joint Waste Disposal Authority, all of NLWA’s spending is related to waste management, recycling, and waste prevention. Information on NLWA’s budget for 2025/26 was reported to the Authority in February 2025. Section 6 of the report talks extensively about the authority’s plans for the money. A link to this report can be found here: 02 Budget and Levy 25-26.pdf. NLWA have also signed the PackUK declaration to confirm its intentions for the spending of PackUK funding.
3. Recycling performance targets/ambitions:
Recycling performance targets/ambitions: The recently adopted North London Joint Waste Strategy sets out a series of ambitions for north London’s waste and recycling performance. The final Strategy is expected to be published soon, however the draft version (which contains the same targets and ambitions) can be found here: 06.02 Joint Waste Strategy Appendix A.pdf
