This second stage consultation was about the Government's proposal to introduce a new tax on plastic packaging as announced in the Budget in 2018. The Authority previously responded to the first stage consultation on the proposals in April 2019. The tax will be set at a rate that provides a clear economic incentive for businesses to use recycled material in the production of plastic packaging.
