Hard Plastic

Hard plastic items that are in good condition could be sold or donated for reuse or to charity.

You can bring hard plastic items (such as garden furniture, children’s toys, UPVC windows etc) to our reuse and recycling centres. However, we have recently had to stop our hard plastics recycling scheme, so these items will be treated as general waste and sent to our energy recovery facility.  This is because our recycling processor recently advised us the UK doesn’t currently have the processing capacity to recycle hard plastics, due to high energy prices and an oversupply of cheaper imported plastic products. We will continue to look for a market for these items in case it is possible for us to resume the scheme.
