Plastic laundry baskets are made of hard plastic. You can bring hard plastic items to our reuse and recycling centres. However, we have recently had to stop our hard plastics recycling scheme, so these items will be treated as general waste and sent to our energy recovery facility.  This is because our recycling processor recently advised us the UK doesn’t currently have the processing capacity to recycle hard plastics, due to high energy prices and an oversupply of cheaper imported plastic products. We will continue to look for a market for these items in case it is possible for us to resume the scheme.  

If you are unable to take the item(s) to one of these sites, you can put it in your general rubbish bin at home.
