Garden furniture

Plastic garden furniture is a hard plastic.

You can bring hard plastic items to our reuse and recycling centres. However, we have recently had to stop our hard plastics recycling scheme, so these items will be treated as general waste and sent to our energy recovery facility.  This is because our recycling processor recently advised us the UK doesn’t currently have the processing capacity to recycle hard plastics, due to high energy prices and an oversupply of cheaper imported plastic products. We will continue to look for a market for these items in case it is possible for us to resume the scheme.  

If you are unable to take the garden furniture to a reuse and recycling centre, contact your local council to see if they will collect it as a large item (bulky) waste collection.
