Borosilicate glass

Borosilicate glass pan and jugs

Guidance

Alias

pyrex

Borosilicate glass products cannot be accepted for recycling because the type of glass used in these products melts at a different temperature from the glass used for bottles and jars. If borosilicate glass or pyrex enters the glass recycling process it can result in recycling loads being rejected. It is therefore not something that either the smelting plant or the manufacturers want and it should therefore not be included in your recycling.

If the product is small enough it can go in your household waste. If it is too large for household bins, it must be taken to one of north London's reuse and recycling centres and put in the general waste bin.
