GL (green glass) - 71

The identification codes show which type of material was used to make a product. That means it doesn’t necessarily indicate a product’s recyclability. To check if something is recyclable, either search for the individual item on our A-Z function (opens in a new window), or check on our recycling page (opens in a new window).

Green glass is usually used to make bottles for wine or beer. Household packaging like this can go in your recycling bin at home.

Drinking glasses, or glass vases, bowls or dishes cannot go in the recycling bin at home. You can instead take them to any of north London's reuse and recycling centres (see below).
