Knife

Guidance
Alias
knives, bread knife, carving knife
A reusable kitchen knife that is in good condition could be sold or donated for reuse or to charity. If the item is not reusable, it can be taken to one of north London's reuse and recycling centres (RRC) where it can be recycled.
Some north London boroughs have knife bins where you can safely dispose of sharp knives, blades or tools. Search online or on your local council's website to find out.
How to safely transport a sharp knife
- Carefully wrap the knife, blade or tool in cardboard (such as an old cereal box) and use strong tape (such as duct tape/parcel tape) to secure it. Use enough cardboard and tape so the knife doesn't poke through.
- Though it is a criminal offence to have a knife or blade in a public place, it is okay to have one when it is securely wrapped and you are taking it straight to a recycling centre or knife bin.
