Fabric in good condition could be sold online, given away to or donated to charity. Find a textiles bank near you on the Recycle Now website (opens in a new window).

Fabric that is worn out in poor condition can be taken to a reuse and recycling centre (RRC) (opens in a new window) where it will be recycled by one of our contractors.

Renée Materials (opens in a new window), based in north London, collects and sells high quality reclaimed materials. They have two hubs where you can drop off the following items:

  • Brochures
  • Magazines
  • Wallpaper (full rolls)
  • Candle wax
  • Fabrics
  • Wool (for knitting)
  • Yarn or thread
  • Craft materials

Textiles recycling at recycling centres

We recently had to stop accepting textiles at some of our reuse and recycling centres (RRC) due to challenges in our supply chain. We're pleased to say that we have found a solution and textiles are accepted again at all sites.
